Solitude, Plant and Me

Solitude, Plant and Me Series can be regarded as the pinnacle of Ji Ho-Ying’s photorealistic period. For Ji, this series goes beyond simply depicting the real world or imitating a particular scene. It is a practice rooted in repeated labor and meticulous brushwork, through which he finds joy in the long, deliberate process of constructing each image. This process serves not only as a form of self-dialogue but also as the beginning of reflection. The series has earned numerous awards and has been exhibited both nationally and internationally. Through this introspective subject matter, the artist has found a way to engage meaningfully with the world. I am truly grateful that the Plant Series has appeared in my life.
